Welcome to a Forces and Setting Title for Patrol Angis A new setting and forces with statistics and rules for use with 15mm miniatures and models from The Ion Age.

An enjoyable playing experience in a space opera setting unlike any other. This Army Book brings you to the Camarthen star system for a desperate campaign for possession of a planet upon which sits an alien Matter Gateway. Now that it is switched on the gateway has brought a mythical enemy of Humanity back to reality from far across the galaxy; The Shia Khan Empire. Making use of the Patrol Angis rule book for skirmishes and the Callsign Taranis expansion book for larger games you can now add the Khanate Empire and also Planetary Defence Forces to your games. Read all about the tragic fate of Camarthen Prime and the start of the second Khanate War as a world burns.

You can then create and assemble your own Tesserans and Ordos (platoons) along with vehicles and more for the Khanate with armoury and army lists. Then consult army lists for the Planetary Militias to do the same with Troop Types, Armour, Weapons and platoon composition guides. There are also advanced rules for both new armies covering Nebula Charges, Humascare, and Robotic Infantry among other skills and equipment. The book ends with three small scenarios of varying complexity for new and experienced players. This Army Book joins up with other titles expanding the forces and the universe of The Ion Age. Put forces from a half dozen miniatures to more than a hundred including vehicles into play. Fight for victory on Camarthen Prime or take your fight elsewhere in the Prydian Precinct.

“A thousand years ago the Ban of Prejudice was lifted when in the climactic battle for Aldan IV the accursed Templars detonated the Aldan Crucible super weapon and in doing so created a both a dark age and the end of the Great Khanate War. The alien matter gateway in the Aldan system was destroyed meaning the Shia Khan Empire had no easy way to reach the worlds which then became the Prydian Precinct. This was due to their empire laying so far away that none of their Dragon Ships could navigate to our region of space without immense difficulty. Gradually over a millenium the Shia Khan became a memory and then a legend held by folk as a tale and nothing more. Were it not for the occasional space wreak and also the discovery of artefacts long buiried they would have remained that way. Had it not been for the traitor Hugo Sevaris the Khanate would have faded away. But Sevaris became the most notorious turncoat in Human history when he used arcane knowledge to activate the matter gateway located in the Camarthen star system.

Despite a desperate action in the deep Belkus Labyrinth the Camarthen Planetary Defence Forces with the aid of the few hundred Retained Knights of Prydia on the planet could not stem the tide of Shia Khan troops which emerged from the purple light of the matter gateway. A civilian fusion reactor taken from a nearby city was detonated and the Belkus Labyrinth destroyed burying the gateway and those coming from it under hundreds of feet of stone and earth. A message was sent to the capital system of the Precinct at New Glastonbury using the fastest possible speed.

'A matter gateway is active on Camarthen IV. Losses are mounting, send everything; everyone. Send them now. The Khanate have returned.'

It did not take long for the Legions of the Shia Khan Empire to dig their way to the surface and begin once more their determined drive to conquer mankind.”
